Hi everyone! It’s New Year’s Eve here in Japan. Today I would like to talk about New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. I’m from Los Angeles, California and in Los Angeles, many people on New Year’s Eve go to a restaurant where they have a set menu. That means that there is no choice. Everyone eats the same which the restaurant decides. Everyone is having food and drinks and then one minute before midnight, everyone does a countdown. For example, we go 59, 58 and so forth. When the clock strikes midnight, everyone jumps up and says Happy New Year! Everyone wishes everyone around them a happy New Year and people kiss. They even kiss strangers. Here in Japan, on New Year’s Day people clean. They clean their house. They clean their apartment. Wherever they live, they clean up. They do a thorough cleaning. They’ll wash the windows. They’ll wash the floors. They even wash their cars. Everyone washes their car. I would like to know what you do on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day. I want to thank everyone for a great 2017. Thank you for supporting my channel and for everyone subscribing. I really appreciate it. Also, my website: MarkKulek.com, I’ve been real busy with that making flashcards and worksheets. The website is for if you want more practice with my videos. There are flashcards to download and worksheets to download. There are certain videos that I have flashcards and worksheets for. If you want more practice with a video that is posted on the website, you download the flashcards to review the vocabulary, grammar and sentence patterns. Watch the video then download the worksheets to followup the video for more practice. Right now it’s free, but pretty soon there will be a membership fee because it’s a lot of money to maintain the website. I have to pay people to make sure it runs smoothly. I can’t do it for free anymore. It’s not going to cost much. If you want flashcards and worksheets for some of the videos, please become a member at the website: MarkKulek.com. If you don’t need the website, you can still donate at Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/MarkKulek to support my channel. Help me to keep doing this. Let’s have a great 2018. Don’t forget to subscribe. I wish everyone a safe and peaceful 2018.
