Today’s Live Stream – Talking about the past. What did you do there? The target pattern is – Were you at the ____ last week? Yes, I was. What did you do there? I ___. We will talk about important vocabulary and patterns. For example: Places and Actions – at the park (go jogging), at the beach (go swimming, sunbath), at the post office (buy stamps, mail a package), at the library (borrow a book, study), at my friend’s house (watch TV, play cards). We will turn these present tense verbs into past tense verbs. We will practice these examples and Mark will ask you to make some sentences on your own. After that we will practice a conversation from Mark’s book: 50 Very Short Conversations – http://a.co/d/cGhZybm The conversation from Mark’s book will be this: Can I start you off with an appetizer? Yes, you can. What can I get you? I’ll have potato skins. Good choice. Is that all? Yes, thank you. We will practice this pattern – I’ll have ____. We will talk about collocations for ‘ache’ – badly, really, terribly, a little, slightly, all over. For example – I still really ache from all that running yesterday. I am still aching all over. We will practice Modal Verbs – can / can’t + base form of verb. Example – Can you play baseball? I can’t play the piano. We will discuss English Tense – Present Progressive Form / affirmative / negative / interrogative. Key words – now, at the moment, look!, listen! Viewer Requested Topic – Need to (achieve a goal) and Have to (obligation) We will also talk about how we are feeling today and some recent polls you took during the week: Which of these is more difficult to pronounce? – What’s your favorite season? As always, I will take a picture of the whiteboard so that you can take a closer look after watching the live stream today. Thank you for joining me today.
