Law of refection: 1. First law: angle of incident = angle of reflection. 2. Second law: the incident light ray, the reflected light ray and the normal all lie in the same plane perpendicular to the reflecting surface. Concepts concerning reflection: The incident light ray: The light ray that falls on a reflecting surface. The reflected ray: The light ray bounces from the reflecting surface. Angle of incident: The angle between the incident light ray and the normal. Angle of reflection: The angle between the reflected light ray and the normal. *What happens when the light ray falls perpendicular to reflecting surface? It reflects on itself, because angle of incident and angle of reflection equal zero. *** Types of mirrors are plane mirror and spherical mirrors. Properties of image formed by plane mirror: 1. The image is upright (erect). 2. The image is equal to the object in size. 3. The image is virtual. 4. The image is laterally inverted (reversed). 5.
