In This part we will study : Heat conductors and heat insulators: Heat conductors They are the materials that allow heat to flow through. Ex. iron – copper – aluminum – stainless steel. Heat insulators They are the materials that do not allow heat to flow through. Ex. Wood – plastic – glass – paper – wool – rubber – liquids – gases (air). Give Reason for … 1. Iron is a good conductor of heat. Because iron allows heat to flow through. 2. Wood is a bad conductor of heat. Because wood does not allow heat to flow through.  life applications on heat conductors and heat insulators. 1- On constructing the railways, gaps are left between the railway bars.(G.R) To avoid train accidents as iron is a good conductor of heat which expands and twists by heat. 2- Insulating glass windows are made by bonding two sheets of glass and leaving a space between them filled with air. (G.R) To prevent the leakage of heat as air is a bad conductor of heat.
